Blockchain.com wants to bring prediction markets and derivatives to US users under one roof.
Per Decrypt, the company applied to the CFTC for a designated contract market license and a futures commission merchant license. Overseas it already offers event markets through a Polymarket partnership and perpetual futures powered by $HYPE's Hyperliquid.
My view: a federal license is also a shield. States have sued Kalshi and Polymarket, and a CFTC license would put Blockchain.com on the federal side of that fight. It is one of 11 other firms that filed for this license type this year.
đŹ Would you trade event contracts inside the same app as your crypto wallet?
