According to CNBC, European Trade Commissioner Maroš Sefčovič said China has agreed to cut its hybrid car exports to the European Union by half, though the final decision still needs Brussels' approval. He described two days of talks with Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao in Beijing as a positive first step after a summer of rising tensions between China and the EU. China’s Commerce Ministry also released a list of 16 consensus outcomes, including export licenses for rare earths and permanent magnets to the EU, but Sefčovič did not give a timeline for those shipments. The two sides agreed to meet again in March, with a video conference scheduled for January.
