According to CNBC, Meta Platforms triggered a rare golden cross after its 50-day moving average rose to $630.87 on Oct. 6, edging above its 200-day moving average of $629.25, according to FactSet data. The owner of Instagram and WhatsApp closed Tuesday at $738.88, up almost 18% in the past month. The move came after Meta introduced Muse, a personal AI agent, on September 8. Sam Rines, director of Active ETFs at WisdomTree, said investors had been skeptical of Meta's AI spending and that Muse was the first sign of tangible returns on that investment. He added that continuing to build relevant products and deliver better returns from its advertising business could provide further catalysts. Wells Fargo recently raised its price target on Meta to $1,000 from $796 after Muse became the most popular free new app in Apple's App Store. FactSet data showed Meta's previous golden crosses occurred in August 2013, January 2017, June 2018, June 2020 and June 2025.
