According to Jin10, the euro extended its recent decline and fell to a 16-month low against the U.S. dollar as expectations for U.S. rate hikes remained elevated after the August U.S. personal consumption expenditures (PCE) inflation data came in below expectations, while ING's Chris Turner said the report did little to weaken market expectations for Federal Reserve tightening because U.S. economic activity data continued to perform well, consumer spending remained firm, and Wednesday's ADP private-sector employment report showed signs that job growth accelerated again.
