$XRP Ledger is moving deeper into real-world finance.
Brazil’s CSD BR, which oversees more than 22 trillion reais (~$4T) in registered assets, has started mirroring ownership records for selected BTG Pactual investment funds onto the XRP Ledger.
The key detail: XRPL isn’t replacing the official database yet. CSD BR remains the legal source of truth, while the public blockchain provides a second, independently verifiable record that approved institutions can check in real time.
The records use XRPL’s Multi-Purpose Token standard, giving CSD BR control over who can hold and transfer the assets, including the ability to freeze or reverse transactions when legally required.
What makes this interesting is that this involves live fund records rather than a simple testnet experiment.
The longer-term goal is even bigger: directly issuing and trading real-world assets on XRPL, potentially including Brazilian real-estate and agribusiness receivables.
If that happens, blockchain moves from simply tracking assets to helping issue and settle regulated financial products.
