Canada's energy minister said the country has prepared an emergency plan if diesel supplies are disrupted, including a possible U.S. export ban on the fuel. According to Sina Finance, Tim Hodgson said in an interview in Vancouver that Canada is a net diesel exporter and can respond if it comes to that, and he noted that Canada has previously been exempted from U.S. energy export bans because the two countries' oil industries are highly integrated.

He said Canada is always running scenarios and assumptions, planning, and preparing backup plans for such a situation. U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday that he was still considering a ban very seriously to curb high domestic fuel prices.
