The reason is simple. The DEX handles quotes, routing, and pool logic, but the actual execution still depends on TON to deliver and confirm the messages. When the network is congested, the on-chain part of the process can lag even if the interface looks normal.
It helps to separate the layers:
• STONfi availability → quotes and contracts are working
• TON availability → the chain is accepting transactions
• Network performance → how fast those messages move
Congestion sits in the third layer. That is why a swap can appear stuck even when the protocol itself is fine. Market conditions can also change while the transaction is waiting, which adds another source of uncertainty.
