KelpDAO said it has filed a lawsuit against LayerZero and its co-founder Bryan Pellegrino over responsibility for the rsETH cross-chain bridge attack earlier this year. According to Foresight News, the complaint alleges that LayerZero failed to fully disclose technical weaknesses and risks, did not prevent its security infrastructure from being compromised, and had previously reviewed and approved Kelp's deployment and configuration.

The company said LayerZero has publicly shifted blame in recent months. Since the attack, the team said it has taken steps to protect user assets, including migrating the rsETH bridge to a more secure cross-chain standard.

Bryan Pellegrino, co-founder and CEO of LayerZero, said on social media that KelpDAO's claims lack merit and that he will respond and defend the case in Vancouver.

Foresight News previously reported that LayerZero's incident report said the KelpDAO rsETH bridge built on LayerZero was attacked on April 18, 2026, resulting in the loss of about 116,500 rsETH.
