Morgan Stanley warned that a US diesel export ban could push gasoline prices higher by forcing refiners to cut runs by about 2 million barrels a day. According to NS3.AI, gasoline output could fall by roughly 650,000 barrels a day even if refiners shifted yields toward gasoline.

President Donald Trump backs an export ban. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the administration was studying whether the policy would work.
