Polish prosecutors have charged a former police officer, Artur K., in connection with the collapse of crypto exchange Zondacrypto. He is accused of participating in an organized crime group, helping misappropriate user funds, aiding computer fraud, and laundering money, and police found documents related to the exchange's operations at his home. According to Foresight News, Katowice police are also searching a fuel depot where Zondacrypto founder Sylwester Suszek was last seen before his disappearance in March 2022.

Prosecutors are treating Suszek's case as unlawful deprivation of liberty rather than a missing-person case. Since August, at least five people, including former Polish Olympic Committee chairman Radosław P., have been charged, and those who have spoken publicly have denied the allegations. Zondacrypto, formerly BitBay and founded in 2014, says it has 1.3 million customers. The exchange froze withdrawals in April, and Estonia's Financial Intelligence Unit revoked its operating license on June 29.
