TokenPocket has launched a new asset inheritance feature that lets users predesignate heirs, set inactivity-trigger conditions, and define a cancellable waiting period for automated on-chain inheritance. According to ChainCatcher, the feature is available in TokenPocket's latest version.
As a self-custody wallet, TokenPocket said the inheritance process does not require third-party custody or centralized institutions. The transfer is executed through smart contracts while users retain control of their private keys.
The company said the feature is intended to address inheritance challenges for crypto assets when private keys are lost or a holder dies unexpectedly, and it is being positioned as an exploration of on-chain inheritance and trust mechanisms.
