Asian stocks rebound slightly ahead of Fed decision
đ The MSCI Asia-Pacific ex-Japan index rose around 0.2% after four consecutive sessions of losses, as markets largely priced in a 25-basis-point rate hike from the Fed.
đ Macro pressure eased slightly as the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield slipped below 5%, while Brent crude fell back toward $108 per barrel. However, the rebound remained uneven across the region.
đ°đ· The KOSPI briefly gained 0.8%, supported by Samsung and SK hynix, before narrowing to around 0.48%. The won weakened beyond 1,370 per dollar while foreign investors remained net sellers, suggesting risk appetite has not fully recovered.
âł Attention is now shifting to the Fedâs accompanying guidance, as the degree of hawkishness could determine the next move in yields, the dollar and Asian equities.
