đŽ BTC: Are We Looking at a Bull Trap?
Looking at the BTC/USD daily chart, thereâs a pattern that has repeated twice over the past few months:
đ The pattern
Two consecutive ascending channels, each topping out around $82k and $79k, followed by sharp reversals. This structure â rally inside a channel, break of the lower trendline, accelerated drop â is the classic shape of a bull trap: a move that pulls buyers in near the top right before reversing.
â ïž Where we stand now
BTC recently retested the $79k-81k zone after a strong recovery. The daily RSI is stretched (above 80), which historically tends to precede pauses or corrections â not necessarily a drop, but a signal that the move is overextended.
đŻ What Iâm watching, not a recommendation:
âą Key support: the $71-72k zone (200-day moving average)
âą If price loses that support with force, the bull trap thesis gains more weight
âą If price consolidates and the moving average âcatches upâ to price instead, that weakens the reversal case and favors trend continuation
đ Important: this is a technical read based on chart pattern, not a certainty. A bull trap is only confirmed after the fact. Manage your risk, use stop losses, and donât treat this as an entry/exit signal.
