Lord Jim O'Neill, the economist who has been advising the prime minister, said he will not take a formal job in Andy Burnham's government, according to BBC reported. The crossbench peer and former Treasury minister said he did not want the constraints of a blind trust or to give up control of his business interests, and added that he would continue an informal relationship with Burnham and his team. O'Neill, who was once chief economist at Goldman Sachs, had been tipped to become Burnham's chief economic adviser.
