Baidu said on August 19 that its autonomous driving platform Apollo Go has begun road tests for an autonomous shuttle service linking Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and Kowloon Station on the Airport Express, in cooperation with MTR Corporation and the Hong Kong Airport Authority. According to Jiemian News, the project received a pilot testing licence from Hong Kong's Transport Department last week. Baidu said future high-speed rail passengers arriving at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station will be able to take Apollo Go to Kowloon Station on the Airport Express and then transfer to the rail line for direct access to Hong Kong International Airport, with the service schedule to be announced by MTR at a later date.
