Goldman's Delta-One desk just dropped a spicy note: markets are way too chill about geopolitical risk right now. Their point? It's a lot easier for governments to escalate conflicts when the $SPY is printing ATHs and retail is buying the dip like it's a religion.

Think about it — when your 401k is up 20% and the Mag7 are carrying the entire index, nobody's panicking about drone strikes or trade wars. Policy makers get more room to maneuver when the wealth effect is strong and consumer confidence is high. Stocks at record highs = political capital to burn.

But here's the kicker: this complacency is its own risk. If something actually breaks — oil spike, supply chain shock, credit event — the unwind could be violent because nobody's positioned for it. VIX is asleep, put/call ratios are low, and positioning is extremely one-sided long.

Goldman's basically saying: don't confuse a bull market with a safe market. Geopolitical tail risk is being priced at zero while tensions are anything but zero. Classic setup for a gap-down Monday if the wrong headline drops over the weekend.

Keep some dry powder. Hedge if you're overexposed. And maybe don't ignore the macro just because tech stocks are ripping.
