I used to think putting traditional financial assets on blockchain was mostly a technical challenge: tokenize the asset, move it on-chain, and let DeFi handle the rest.

Looking deeper into Dusk changed that view.

What makes Dusk interesting to me is Dusk Trade, which is being built around assets like money market funds, ETFs, and bonds rather than simply another crypto-token marketplace.

That creates a completely different set of requirements. If the goal is to operate within the European financial framework, blockchain infrastructure has to work alongside regulation, compliance, investor protections, and established market structures.

Dusk’s work with licensed European institutions, including NPEX, also caught my attention. It suggests the bigger idea may not be replacing traditional finance with blockchain—but connecting the two.

And then there’s programmable privacy.

Financial markets need confidentiality, but they also need accountability. The interesting challenge is finding a system where sensitive information stays protected while authorized parties can still access what they need.

I’m not saying Dusk has already solved this.

But the approach is different enough that I’ll be watching closely as its technology, products, and institutional relationships move further into the real world.
