Thinking about going long on $NIL today best gainners $ALICE DuskEVM hit with withdraw prove finalize 📊
I stopped looking at Dusk’s architecture as a question of which VM is better? and started looking at where a financial application can actually fail.
A trading application may need Solidity and familiar EVM tooling. A protocol-level financial primitive may need direct L1 execution, Rust/WASM, native transaction models, privacy or zero-knowledge capabilities. DuskVM and DuskEVM are therefore not simply two versions of the same environment. They expose different execution paths while DuskDS provides the settlement and data-availability foundation underneath them.
That distinction matters because developer convenience and protocol control are not always the same requirement. DuskEVM can reduce migration friction for teams coming from Ethereum, while DuskVM gives builders a path closer to the underlying Dusk architecture.
For me, the useful test is simple: does each execution environment solve a different engineering problem, or is the separation just extra surface area? So far, the documentation points toward the first answer.
