"Escrow doesn't protect you when you're outside Binance — Minh's story"
Why you should NEVER trade outside the platform and what to do instead
Imagine this: Minh a beginner finds a USDT ad at 1% below market price. The seller has a solid profile: 98% completion rate, 200+ trades.
Then a message pops up in the in-app chat: "I'm outside, bad connection. Let's switch to Telegram so I can send you the confirmation receipt faster."
Minh agrees.
On Telegram, the seller sends a "verification receipt" and asks Minh to transfer money to a different bank account than the one listed on the order. Followed by a push: "Hurry up, someone else is waiting. I'm holding this order just for you."
Minh sends the money. And the seller disappears.
Minh loses his money. No USDT. And Binance can't help.
Why? Because there's no Order ID. No chat history within the system. No escrow was ever locked. The entire transaction happened outside Binance where all the protection layers no longer apply.
Lessons from Minh's story:
💬 Never chat outside the platform. Zalo, Telegram, Messenger none of these channels are recognized by Binance as evidence.
📱 Trust only Binance. When someone asks you to step outside the system, that's the biggest red flag.
🔒 Escrow only protects you when you stay on the platform. Step out, and you strip yourself of every safeguard.
The one rule I never break: Everything chatting, negotiating, sending receipts, confirming payments stays inside Binance. No exceptions.
If anyone asks you to trade outside the platform, stop immediately. Protect yourself.
