According to CNBC, pro-immigration advocacy group America's Voice said President Donald Trump's mass deportation campaign is pushing up grocery, housing and healthcare costs while weighing on local economies. The group called the added burden the "ICE Tax" and released data on Wednesday putting dollar figures on the effects of its analysis, which said lettuce prices rose 32.1%, canned fruit 7.9%, fresh citrus 6.3% and apples 7.1% over 12 months ending in June, while core inflation increased 2.6% over the same period.

America's Voice also said construction employment fell 1.3% in the five states most reliant on immigrant labor from the start of Trump's second term through June, while it rose 3.3% in the rest of the country. In the Northeast, it said new permits for single-family homes fell 23.5% from March 2025 to June 2026, and new home prices rose 15.4% between the first quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026. The report added that home healthcare costs rose 10.7% over the past year and cited a Wharton School study saying ICE enforcement left spending 6.2% below normal and foot traffic 2.7% below normal at the average business in affected metro areas.
