According to Odaily, the 15th national '5.15' day for combating and preventing economic crimes was marked today. The event, jointly organized by the public security economic investigation departments of Sichuan and Chongqing, took place at the Chengdu Tianfu International Financial Center. During the event, the Chengdu Public Security Bureau revealed two typical cases of economic crimes.
One of the cases involved a massive underground money exchange, with the amount involved reaching as high as 13.8 billion yuan. The suspects used Tether (USDT) as a medium to evade national foreign exchange regulation and illegally provided foreign exchange settlement channels. The case spans across 26 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions nationwide. As of now, the public security authorities have arrested 193 suspects across the country.
