JUST IN: $4.5M Telegram Exploit

A user exploited a Telegram bot payment/refund vulnerability for nearly two months, generating around $4.5 million worth of Stars.

Reportedly, the exploit allowed stars to appear in a user’s balance after payment, while certain gift purchases could trigger refunds that left part of the stars behind. This made it possible to repeat the process and accumulate stars through the bug.

Around $1.5 million was reportedly withdrawn before Telegram blocked gift transfers. The stars were used to buy expensive gifts, including rare Plush Pepe NFTs.

🚨 TELEGRAM’S GRAM WALLET IS NO LONGER JUST A PLAN

Telegram founder Pavel Durov confirmed that Gram Wallet inside Telegram is now accessible to a select group of users, with a gradual rollout to Telegram’s 1B+ user base. The smart contract powering the wallet has also been approved by validators.

And the rollout is already reflected in the ecosystem: TON’s official site now identifies GRAM as the native coin of The Open Network, while the blockchain itself remains TON.

This distinction matters:

GRAM is the token. TON is the blockchain.

The wallet rollout is the real development to watch — but a wider rollout does not guarantee GRAM’s price will rise.
