🚨 #TurkeyWatch 🇹🇷 | Inflation Shock Update 🚨

Turkey’s central bank has officially raised its 2026 interim inflation target from 16% per year to 24% per year, after failing to tame rising prices as promised this year.

💥 Key Takeaways:

Original 2026 Target: 16%

New 2026 Target: 24%

This move underscores that inflation in Turkey remains stubbornly high, highlighting the persistent impact of monetary policy.

The central bank’s struggle reflects deeper economic pressures, despite repeated promises to stabilize the lira and control price growth.

📊 Implication: Inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon, and Turkey’s policy adjustments show the challenge of anchoring expectations amid continued monetary expansion.

⚡ Bottom Line: The new target signals that price stability is still far from guaranteed, and markets should brace for continued volatility in the Turkish economy.
