Network Effects Are Crypto's Most Underrated Moat
Investors obsess over price charts and narratives, but the most durable edge in crypto belongs to protocols with compounding network effects — and most people underestimate how powerful they are.
Bitcoin's network effect is pure security: every new node, miner, and custodian deepens the economic attack cost. That's why
$BTC at its current scale is functionally unassailable — not because of hype, but because reversing its adoption would require coordinating against millions of independent participants.
Ethereum takes a different form: composability. Every new protocol built on
$ETH thickens the dependency web. Aave needs Chainlink. Uniswap feeds Compound. The more layers stack, the more expensive migration becomes. This is sticky capital at a protocol level.
Solana's network effect is developer momentum — fast tooling, cheap fees, and a growing app ecosystem that attracts more builders, which attracts more users, which attracts more capital.

The lesson: price follows network density over time. When evaluating any crypto asset for long-term conviction, ask not "is it popular now" but "does it compound its own gravity?"
