To empower users with a greater degree of control over their personal data, Binance has launched a new feature that consolidates various tools for exercising privacy rights in one convenient location and allows users to directly download a copy of their personal data.
With a few simple steps ensuring the security of their personal data, users can now access their whole transaction history, profile review, and other critical account information.
Consistent with our core values, we design our privacy program with users’ best interest at heart.
At Binance, we prioritize the privacy and security of our users' data, maintaining rigorous standards in line with key privacy laws across the globe and established best practices.
Our privacy program is designed not only to adhere to the strictest levels of data protection but also to give users a greater control over their personal data, empowering them to manage their information transparently and securely. Thanks to the continuous improvement and adherence to the latest advancements in the privacy field, data protection remains at the forefront of Binance, ensuring we respect and uphold users’ rights.
In line with this commitment, we are introducing our Privacy Center, a new feature that consolidates various tools for exercising privacy rights in one convenient location and allows users to download their personal account data automatically and directly from our platform.
We are proud to say that we are among the first in the crypto industry to enable direct personal account data download, simplifying the exercise of our users’ privacy rights.
Previously, users needed to contact our Data Protection Office (DPO) via email or webform to obtain a copy of their data. While our DPO team remains available through both channels for support, users now have the ability to download their personal data directly from the Binance app.
This feature is intuitive and enables users to obtain their information on-demand, facilitating greater access and control over their personal data. In just a few clicks, users can access their all-time personal data stored by Binance, including basic profile information, withdrawal, deposit, and trading history. Additionally, users can generate a new report every seven days, ensuring they always have up-to-date information at their fingertips.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you download your personal data using Binance’s new feature:
Log in to Your Binance Account:
Open the Binance app or website and log in using your account credentials. Make sure that you use Binance app version or above 2.91.0 to access this feature.
Navigate to the Privacy Settings:
Go to the account settings section.
Select “Privacy Center” from the menu to access your data and privacy options.
In the Privacy Center, you’ll find an option labeled "Download Personal Data." Click on it to start the process.
Note: If you access Binance through your web browser, follow the same procedure via Settings > Privacy > Download Personal Data. The webpage will look slightly different than on your mobile app.
You will need to provide your email address and create a secure, 8-digit numeric password to protect your data file. Ensure this password is unique and something you can remember, as it will be required to access the downloaded file.
Remember that a personal file can only be downloaded once every seven days. If you need an extra download within that period, our DPO team will be able to help you through our email.
Binance will send a confirmation email with a link to download your personal data file. Check your inbox for this email, and be sure to verify that the sender is legitimate to avoid potential phishing attempts.
The email will include a "Download Your File" button. Click on this button to proceed.
Once you have clicked the download link, your data will be downloaded to your device in an encrypted format.
Your personal data file will be available for your review after you enter the password. Ensure you store this file securely on your device.
After accessing it, you can open the file to review your profile, transaction history, and other account information.
For those who still require assistance with copies of KYC documents or have specific inquiries, our DPO team is ready to help. You can reach them through our email.
To provide greater convenience and better meet the needs of our users, the Binance Privacy Center now offers the option to request a copy of your transactions.
This feature was developed in response to one of the most common requests we receive through our support channels, especially from users who need to review their transactions or fulfill tax obligations more easily and quickly.
