Bitcoin climbed back above $60,000 on Wednesday, a level it had lost during the past couple of weeks of turbulence. $BTC
The move followed comments from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh at the European Central Bank forum in Sintra, Portugal, who said inflation expectations in surveys and bond prices had eased. He paired that with a warning that price growth remains too elevated and that the Fed will not accept inflation above its 2 percent target. "We're going to deliver price stability," Warsh said.
Bitcoin traded near $60,171 in the afternoon, up about 2.7% on the day, with a 24-hour high of $60,474 and a low of $57,718. Session volume reached $26.68 billion as U.S. stocks rose and the dollar retreated from a weekly high.
The reprieve comes in a hard year: Bitcoin sits roughly 30% below where it started 2026 and more than $66,000 under its record of $126,277, with a market value near $1.2 trillion. Bitcoin treasury stocks moved harder — Strategy rose close to 7.5% with intraday highs of 13%, while Strive jumped more than 10% at times to $12.02. Strive's treasury now tops 16,000 BTC, and its stock is up more than 100% over three months.
Earlier this week, Strategy raised the dividend on its STRC preferred shares to 12%, authorized up to $2 billion in buybacks, and set up a $2.55 billion dollar reserve covering at least 12 months of preferred dividends and debt interest. It also created a limited bitcoin monetization program, while reaffirming bitcoin as its primary treasury asset.
If the softer dollar and easing inflation expectations hold, risk assets like Bitcoin could keep finding buyers — but Warsh's warning that inflation is still too high means the relief may not last.
The takeaway worth saving: treasury stocks amplify Bitcoin's moves in both directions, so a 2.7% coin gain can become a double-digit stock swing.
