Most weekends since Bitcoin's June low you could buy Friday and sell Sunday for decent gains, until this one reversed hard and $SOL dropped over 5%.
The pain here is holding alts over the weekend thinking the usual pattern will hold, then waking up Sunday to a portfolio that's been wrecked by thin liquidity. That's how traders lose money without even a chance to react during the week.
Equity fear is spilling over into crypto right now and the low weekend volume is making every sell order hit harder. A typical altcoin is already down over 5%, and if it continues this could turn into the worst weekend drop since April.
The Friday-to-Sunday strategy actually worked pretty well after $BTC bottomed in June. This weekend completely flipped it though, and it looks like thin books are winning for the moment.
When liquidity dries up like this, even modest pressure can cascade through $ETH and the rest of the alts. These calendar plays are useful until the moment they aren't.
Where do you think this goes from here if the equity spillover keeps up?
