JPMorgan has expanded its JPM Coin (#JPMD) USD deposit token to Ethereum, adding the main network to its existing Base deployment. The bank says the token is now available for peer-to-peer transfers within the Ethereum Virtual Machine ecosystem, including Ethereum and Base. Access is intended for institutional clients, not retail trading. Unlike a conventional crypto token, JPMD represents deposits held at JPMorgan. The move adds another institutional payment instrument to the $ETH ecosystem.
JPM Coin first launched on Base in November 2025. #JPMorgan’s Kinexys division says its broader platform has processed more than $4 trillion in cumulative transactions, averaging $7 billion a day. Those figures describe Kinexys activity overall, not JPMD issuance or Ethereum transfer volume. The expansion builds on the bank’s existing tokenized money-market fund activity on Ethereum.
