$BTC is back above $82,000. Sounds calm. The week was not.

Here are the 5 things you need to know before markets reopen.

1. Inflation hit hard
US inflation came in at 3.7%. Experts expected 3.6%. That small gap rattled the market. Bitcoin dipped to about $80K. Ethereum slipped below $2,400.

2. The Fed chief stayed quiet
On Thursday night, Fed Chair Kevin Warsh spoke at the IMF meetings in Bangkok. He gave no hint of a rate hike. His words: “I don’t prejudge meetings.” Markets relaxed. The odds of an October hike fell to about 13-15%.

3. Bitcoin held. Others wobbled.
Bitcoin is near $82,160 today. It is still down about 3% for October. On Saturday, ETH was around $2,420. SOL was near $105. BNB was near $720. Most majors were slightly red.

4. ETF money is mixed
Bitcoin ETFs saw an outflow of about $261M on Wednesday. Thursday saw a tiny inflow of about $5M. Friday saw an outflow of about $82M. Ether ETFs had outflows three days in a row. ETFs are closed on weekends. The next data lands Monday.

5. Oil is the wildcard
Oil is above $100 a barrel. Tension around the Strait of Hormuz keeps traders nervous. When oil rises, inflation fears rise too. That hits risk assets like crypto.

What’s next?
• US data is light next week.
• Fed officials are in a quiet period.
• The big date is Oct 28: the Fed decision.

Levels to watch

Stay safe
• Weekend trading is thin. Moves can reverse fast.

• Avoid heavy leverage.
• Buy hardware wallets only from the maker’s official site. Ledger is investigating thefts linked to a reseller’s tampered devices.
