Deutsche Bank says it is weeks away from launching its first digital-asset custody service in Germany. The initial offering is expected to support major cryptocurrencies including $BTC and $ETH , with expansion to Asian financial centers planned for 2027. The timetable comes from Gerald Podobnik, co-head of the bank’s corporate banking division, in an interview with Reuters.
The bank also intends to add services involving mainstream stablecoins, develop tokenized deposits and help clients issue blockchain-based securities such as digital bonds. These are planned phases, not products confirmed as available today.
The announcement marks a move by a major traditional lender toward institutional crypto infrastructure. It does not disclose customer commitments, assets under custody or a firm launch date.
