Circle is preparing to enter roughly 40 emerging and developing countries, CEO Jeremy Allaire told Reuters. Allaire cited rising demand for stablecoins across Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. USDC circulation rose 19% year over year to $73.3 billion in the second quarter. Allaire said the U.S. GENIUS Act, slated to take effect in January, would give the world "legal digital dollars." Allaire also credited AI agents with increasing USDC usage but warned that AI raises security risks for financial infrastructure.
