Former Mt. Gox CEO Mark Karpelès publicly confirmed that a Ledger Flex bought at Singapore Changi Airport contained an implanted spy module. Ben Yorke bought the device at Metapod this summer and sent the unused device for teardown because of suspicious scratches on the casing. The implant can intercept screen communications and use other methods to steal users' seed phrases during setup. Previously, implants in Ledger devices purchased through Malaysian distributor CryptoBilis led to the theft of over $86 million in assets.
