According to The Block, former FTX COO Constance Wang criticized Netflix's upcoming FTX drama, The Altruists, for distorting the facts, saying the trailer made her feel nauseous and even vomit. She said its portrayal of FTX's workplace was far removed from reality: the company had fewer than 200 employees, many of whom worked 16 to 18 hours a day, rather than indulging in a lavish lifestyle in the Bahamas.
Wang also disputed the portrayal of Caroline Ellison's personality and her relationship with Sam Bankman-Fried, saying most employees only learned the two had dated after FTX went bankrupt. She criticized Netflix for turning a financial scandal that devastated many lives into a love story. The eight-episode series premieres on November 19.
