President Donald Trump announced the launch of the government-wide Super Intelligence Task Force, or SIF, aimed at strengthening US global leadership in artificial intelligence superintelligence.
In a Truth Social post on October 4, Trump said he was announcing the formation of the task force following a “historic White House Super Intelligence Accord.” He said major technology companies had previously gathered at the White House and affirmed their responsibility to the American people.
According to Trump, SIF will coordinate the federal government’s response so the US can continue leading the world in superintelligence. He described superintelligence as a development that many people say will bring a bigger change than the Industrial Revolution or the internet, adding that it will protect Americans’ interests and improve their lives.
SIF will coordinate cooperation between the federal government and consumers, public-interest groups, religious organizations, critical infrastructure operators and companies related to superintelligence.
Trump said the task force will include Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering and Chief Technology Officer Emil Michael, and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor.
SIF will operate under a structure that reports directly to Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
