🔐 $LUNC SECURITY NEEDS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY
A major proposal is on the table for a comprehensive security audit of the Terra Classic blockchain and the scale of it is worth understanding.
Terra Classic’s last cited security audit was September 2020.
Since then, the chain has changed enormously.
The proposed SolidProof audit would examine areas including:
🛡️ Terra Classic's custom modules
🔥 Burn tax calculation & potential bypasses
💰 Treasury drain scenarios
📡 Oracle manipulation & price feeds
⚙️ SDK53 migrations & state integrity
🌐 IBC integration
💻 CosmWasm integration
⛽ Gas, fees & transaction processing
🏦 Validator commission enforcement
🚨 Denial-of-service attack scenarios
🔍 Authorisation & privilege vulnerabilities
And importantly, this isn't intended to end with someone simply handing us an audit PDF.
✅️ Any identified issues would be addressed by OrbitLabs, followed by a full re-audit of the remediation and a publishable final report verifying whether each finding was actually fixed.
Security isn't the glamorous side of rebuilding a blockchain, but it underpins everything else.
For exchanges, developers, validators, investors and projects considering building on Terra Classic, being able to demonstrate that the modern LUNC codebase has undergone serious independent security scrutiny could be an important piece of infrastructure credibility.
There is also a significant cost to consider: the proposal states $70,800 for the audit/re-audit + $20,000 for remediation, with the audit payment also requiring a temporary volatility/transfer buffer.
So this deserves proper community scrutiny.
But one thing is clear: after years of upgrades and major changes to the codebase, security deserves to be part of the conversation about Terra Classic's future.
