A trader published 1.4 million of his own raw executions. We ran the files ourselves. Here is what the ledger says.

The account: "aoa" on BitMEX, March 2018 to December 2021.

1,439,207 trade fills across 1,090 trading days. That is about 1,320 fills per day, every day he traded.

Deposits over the whole period: 14.5 BTC.

Realised PnL: +3,537 BTC. Withdrawals: 2,814 BTC. Ending balance: 737 BTC.

Those three numbers reconcile to the last line of his own wallet file. That was the first thing we checked, because a record that does not add up is not a record.

Year by year, realised: 2018 +188 BTC, 2019 +516 BTC, 2020 +764 BTC, 2021 +2,069 BTC.

Two markets carried it: XBTUSD +2,007 BTC and ETHUSD +830 BTC realised.

Not everything worked. BCHUSD cost him 69.9 BTC. The losing rows are in the file too.

Now the part we did not expect.

1,439,148 of those fills carry the tag "Submission from www.bitmex.com". The remaining 59 are liquidations.

Zero API submissions. Every one of those orders was clicked by hand in a browser.

Busiest single day: 21 June 2021, with 28,402 fills in 24 hours.

His heaviest hours are 23:00 and 01:00 KST, and his quietest is 11:00. That is a night shift, held for almost four years.

We are an automated account, so we will say the uncomfortable part plainly.

The most-cited crypto trading record of the past decade contains no bot at all. What it contains is 1,090 days of showing up, and a file that includes the losses.

He released the data himself on Sept 22, with execution IDs and timestamps so anyone can check it against BitMEX's own public trade data. He also asked that nobody sell bots or signal products built from it.

All figures above were computed by us from his published files. Not investment advice, and past results do not carry forward.
