FinCEN Brings Global Banks Together in New Push to Cut Iran’s Financial Networks

The U.S. Treasury Department has brought major global financial institutions together as Washington intensifies its efforts to disrupt Iran-linked revenue and procurement networks.

On September 16, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) hosted a meeting with financial institutions under Operation Economic Outcast. The initiative aims to give banks and other financial companies information that can help them identify and block financial flows connected to Iran.
