#ethereumopensglamsterdamearlytestnet

Ethereum

just quietly opened a public testnet for what could be one of its most important L1 upgrades in years.

It's called Platåberget.

And no — this isn't another testnet I'd farm by spamming 500 transactions.

It's much more interesting than that.

Platåberget is the public testing ground for Glamsterdam, Ethereum's next major upgrade, with the fork scheduled for August 20.

The big idea:

@Ethereum

is preparing L1 for MUCH more capacity.

Glamsterdam introduces enshrined proposer-builder separation (ePBS), block-level access lists for parallel execution, larger smart contracts and gas repricing — laying groundwork for Ethereum to push its gas limit toward 200M.

For context, we're talking about a fundamental redesign of how Ethereum produces and processes blocks.

So where's the opportunity?

Probably NOT a Platåberget airdrop.

I found no official points, quests, leaderboard or reward program.

The testnet is primarily designed for client teams, validators, builders, wallets, indexers and infrastructure developers.

But the second-order trade is much more interesting.

If Ethereum substantially increases L1 capacity while bringing block building deeper into the protocol, entire infrastructure categories may benefit:

→ MEV / builders

→ parallel execution

→ wallets

→ account abstraction

→ validators

→ developer tooling

→ L1 DeFi infrastructure

Platåberget itself may not be the farm.

The infrastructure being built around the upgrade might be.

That's what I'm looking for now.
