After running from roughly $1,900 to above $2,500 in a week, $ETH failed to hold $2,500 and slipped back toward the mid-$2,400s.
What makes this interesting is the positioning behind the move: Binance ETH funding recently reached its highest level in about a year. That means leveraged longs became increasingly crowded as price accelerated.
The rally can absolutely continue, but after a move this fast, I’d pay more attention to whether spot demand can defend the $2,400 area than to another breakout headline.
Bitcoin is still holding near $79K, but the setup looks a lot less one-sided than it did a few days ago.
Short-term holder whales reportedly locked in around $1.2B in profits over just three days, while BTC is now struggling below the $82.8K–$83K resistance area.
With U.S. PCE inflation and GDP data coming next, this feels like one of those moments where the next macro print could matter more than another headline about ETF inflows.
$ETH is quietly building a stronger institutional bid.
U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs just recorded a sixth straight day of net inflows, adding roughly $116M on Aug. 24, while ETH is trading near $2.49K today.
What makes this more interesting is the relative strength: the ETH/BTC ratio has also formed a bullish “golden cross,” suggesting capital may be rotating toward Ethereum rather than this being only a broad market bounce.
If ETF demand keeps holding, $ETH could become one of the more important charts to watch this week.
