SharpLink, a staking infrastructure operator, has come out against an Ethereum improvement proposal that would redirect a growing portion of validator rewards to the protocol's burn mechanism.
The proposal modifies the reward curve so that a larger fraction of newly issued ether is burned with each epoch. Today, validators receive the full issuance minus priority fees, which are already burned under EIP-1559.
Ethereum's validator set currently secures 230.1 billion in staked ETH, with liquid staking protocols controlling approximately 30% of that total. Lido alone accounts for 18.7 billion in stETH outstanding.
The politics are early. No client team has signaled implementation intent, and the Ethereum Foundation has not scheduled a vote.

$BTC CleanSpark Shares Drop 5.5% After 138M Revenue Miss Exposes Miner Leverage
CleanSpark's quarterly miss reveals a structural shift the market has yet to fully price: mining equities now behave as leveraged bitcoin instruments with embedded operational risk, not standalone operators.
The revenue gap traces to price assumptions The 138 million top line fell short because models baked in higher realized bitcoin prices than the 64,323 level where BTC settled during the quarter.
Miner equities trade as bitcoin call options Thursday's 5.5% drop in CLSK shares mirrors the beta relationship that has emerged since the April halving.
Historical parallel: 2022 hash rate capitulation The current setup echoes mid-2022 when bitcoin dipped below 20,000 and several public miners - including Compute North and Core Scientific - faced liquidity crises.

Bitcoin Price Analysis: BTC Battles Key 65K Barrier as Short Liquidation Cluster
$BTC pushing back into the 64,000-65,000 USDT zone after the recent bounce from lows. Short-term structure has flipped constructive - higher lows on the 4H and spot CVD turning positive again. The real test sits just overhead. 65,000 USDT is the level that has rejected every retest since the breakdown, and it's where a dense cluster of short liquidations is stacking up on Binance perps. That makes it a magnet and a trap at the same time - a clean push through could squeeze hard, but a rejection here likely sends price back to grind the 62,000-63,000 USDT range. Honestly looks like a coiled spring. If buyers can absorb the offers above 65k with volume, a flush into 67-68k USDT is on the table fast. Failure to flip it on the first attempt probably means another fakeout and a dip-buy setup near 62.5k. Trade the level, not the narrative. $BTC #Liquidations #Futures #Bitcoin #BTC
$XRP ProShares Ultra XRP ETF Sheds 95% Since July Launch as Volatility Decay Erases Leveraged Returns
The ProShares Ultra XRP ETF has become a textbook case of volatility decay in leveraged exchange-traded products. Since its July 14, 2025 debut, UXRP has surrendered 95.02% of its net asset value, per ProShares' own performance tables.
UXRP is structured to deliver twice the daily return of the Bloomberg XRP Index. It does not hold XRP tokens. Instead, the fund enters swap agreements and futures contracts to synthesize 2x exposure, resetting that leverage at each day's close. The expense ratio sits at 1.67%.
PeriodNAV ReturnMarket Price Return---------1 Month-40.70%-40.93%3 Months-45.93%-46.18%6 Months-78.01%-78.06%Year to Date-78.01%-78.06%Since Inception-95.02%-95.03% The Bloomberg XRP Index commenced March 3, 2025 at a base level of 100.
Volatility decay explains the gap. When an underlying asset whipsaws - up 10% one day, down 9% the next - a 2x daily-reset product loses ground on each round trip. The math is unforgiving: a 10% gain followed by a 9.09% loss leaves the index flat, but the 2x fund drops 1.8%.

$BTC 4,600 U.S. credit unions now have potential Bitcoin
Circuit and DaLand have given 4,600 U.S. credit unions a direct, production-ready path to offer Bitcoin custody and trading to 135 million members without relying on outside platforms.
Network hashrate held at 615 exahashes per second over the past difficulty epoch, suggesting miners are not yet pricing in new institutional demand. CoinGecko data shows Bitcoin's 24-hour price change at +0.20% while the 7-day trend sits at -0.60%.
Energy economics at the margin
Credit union adoption changes the marginal buyer profile. Unlike ETF shares that settle off-chain, credit union members can withdraw to self-custody, creating on-chain transaction demand.

$ETH Ethereum ETFs just posted their biggest single
Ethereum spot ETFs absorbed 60 million in net new capital Wednesday, the strongest single-day print since the first week of July and the third consecutive session of inflows.
Institutional custody desks confirm the tone shift. Coinbase Prime reported net deposits of 18,400 ETH across its prime brokerage clients Tuesday, the largest single-day inflow since the May options expiry.
What triggered the move The catalyst appears to be a convergence of technical and structural factors. ETH reclaimed the 50-day moving average at 1,870 on Tuesday, triggering systematic re-entry from trend-following CTAs that had been flat since the August washout.
How desks are positioning Options markets tell a complementary story. Friday's 2.1 billion expiry carries a 1,900 max pain strike, with open interest concentrated at the 1,950 and 2,000 calls.
