A Blue Origin rocket engine exploded during testing in West Texas on June 30, causing significant damage to the engine and test stand infrastructure. The BE-4 engine was undergoing final tests before being shipped to United Launch Alliance (ULA) for use on its second Vulcan rocket launch. Blue Origin confirmed the incident and is working on addressing the cause. The engine failure could further delay the already postponed first Vulcan launch, which is now scheduled for Q4 this year. ULA and Blue Origin are both under contract for satellite launches, including those for Amazon's Project Kuiper internet satellites.
