According to Decrypt, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin published a blog post discussing the end of his childhood as a young pioneer in the crypto industry and his vision for Ethereum's future growth and decentralization. Buterin, who founded Ethereum at the age of 19, acknowledged that he no longer holds the same role in the crypto space as younger innovators take leading positions in various projects.

Buterin shared that most of his decisions regarding Ethereum were influenced by other people's pressures and requests. He now believes the crypto community should create an entire decentralized tech stack to compete with centralized tech companies at every level, including finance, identity, and communications. Buterin provided a chart outlining his vision for a parallel structure, from stablecoins replacing banks to encrypted messaging replacing big tech messaging platforms.

The Ethereum founder also emphasized the importance of understanding the different motivations between token speculators, builders, intellectuals, and end users. He noted that financial incentives are not everything and highlighted the diverse needs and ideals driving crypto adoption worldwide. As the early characters of the crypto industry exit, Buterin concluded that decentralization itself persists by creating new communities, and staying active in creating the new is a task for each individual.
