I’ll be honest, I almost dismissed Dusk at first.

I saw “privacy blockchain” and assumed it was just another project using privacy as a headline. Then I actually sat down and looked at how the network works.

That changed my view.

What caught me was how much of the design is built around a problem I hadn’t really thought about before: financial activity can’t always be completely public.

On Dusk, the XSC standard is built for confidential financial contracts, while DuskVM supports smart contracts. Zero-knowledge proofs can also let the network verify something without exposing every detail behind it.

That made me look at the project differently.

I’m not interested in calling it a winner before the usage proves anything. I’m more interested in whether people actually need this kind of privacy when real financial applications start moving onchain.

That’s the part I’m watching now.

I’ll be honest, I initially looked at DUSK like I look at most smaller crypto projects.

Price first. Story second.

That was probably the wrong order.

When I started reading about Dusk properly, I realized I had missed what actually makes it interesting. It’s a Layer 1 built around privacy, but the idea goes beyond simply keeping transactions hidden.

What really made me stop was the XSC standard.

I kept thinking about the practical problem it is trying to solve. If securities and other real-world assets move on-chain, some information needs to stay private, while certain rules still need to be checked. Dusk is trying to handle both sides instead of pretending one of them doesn’t matter.

Then I looked at DUSK itself. It’s used for network fees and staking, and staking starts at 1,000 DUSK. The network also has DuskVM, while DuskEVM gives developers access to Solidity and Vyper.

That changed how I was looking at it.

I stopped asking, “Will DUSK pump?”

I started asking, “Is the market actually noticing what this network is being built to do?”

I still don’t have that answer.

But after spending too much time reading the details, I’m definitely watching DUSK differently now.
