Crypto projects saw a 52.5% month-on-month increase in venture capital funding in March, raking in $1.16 billion. RootData figures reveal that 180 publicly-announced investments were made last month, the highest since April 2022. Ethereum layer-2 blockchain Optimism secured the largest raise with $89 million, followed by cryptography startup Zama's $73 million Series A. The majority of funded projects were based in the US, but they represented less than 10% of the total deal count. Infrastructure projects received nearly $283 million, while decentralized finance projects got $228.1 million in funding.
