⚡️Google Pay launches in Uzbekistan

Google has announced the launch of its payment service Google Pay in Uzbekistan. The announcement was made on October 19 by Marcin Krasuski, Google Cloud’s Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Central and Eastern Europe.

“I’m very pleased to announce that today Google is launching the GPay service — Google Pay — in Uzbekistan,” he said.

At the end of July, Jamshid Usmanov, head of the Central Bank’s Payment Systems Development Department, told Spot in an interview that banks were working on integrating Google Pay and Apple Pay. The plan was to support not only Visa and Mastercard cards, but also the national payment systems Humo and Uzcard:
