First of all, I’m not here to spam, and I’ve never trusted the marketing posts people put out in public squares. I’m just sharing one real experience of mine for everyone’s reference.
Last month on the 21st at 11 a.m., after I withdrew money to my withdrawal bank card, it was frozen by China Merchants Bank immediately. There was no police station contacting me, no phone call from the bank—just one text message.
Then I prepared the C2C transaction records (chat, payment result), my personal ID card, and went to the nearest bank with a counter. I told the front desk: “My card is frozen.”
Then a bank staff member asked you to inquire with your supervisor’s seat—basically, what you should say is the truth. Don’t make up anything, especially don’t believe those excuses from marketing posts. Just say plainly: “I traded crypto.” Nobody will arrest you! Nobody will arrest you! Nobody will arrest you!
After I explained everything, the bank staff first told me: “In China, buying and selling digital currency is illegal, though not necessarily criminal. All consequences and risks are borne by you personally. Do you understand?” I said yes.
Then the next step was that they led me to the counter to check the freeze code for my funds. I heard mine was X8 X9. The gist was basically “you triggered a wall-bypass” — meaning the money from my withdrawal triggered the bank’s anti-fraud detection system edge threshold, so it was temporarily locked. They required submission of documents.
At that point, you take out all the materials you prepared. The documents I mentioned above are basically complete. Then it’s just local living records—for example, delivery screenshots from takeout, rental screenshots, or property management screenshots—any one is fine. That’s basically it for the processing. At 1 p.m., the bank that the card belongs to called me and said they needed me to submit one more screenshot showing the phone number card usage duration. After I resubmitted it, at 2 p.m. it was unlocked. The card works normally, and the frozen amount automatically unfreezes after 48 hours.
I’m sharing this to tell everyone: as long as you haven’t done anything illegal, dishonest, or骗钱骗财 (duping people out of money), even if you’re trading crypto, no one can just freeze you.
Crypto trading is your choice as an adult—you’re responsible for yourself.
If you’re truly involved in fraud, then there’s no need to go to the bank. Uncle from the Six Doors will just come to your home.
Wishing everyone a smooth withdrawal.
One more thing to add: after I finished the procedures, the bank staff told me one sentence: “There’s really no need to withdraw to a bank card—just withdraw to Alipay.”
