This is called “ego clinging” (ātma-graha). In the end, when your nitpicking comes with emotions and insults, this is called suffering (klesha).
Finally, you develop a dislike for that person. This is called bias. And then, you come to understand: in this world, there are in fact no “others,” only yourself. When you are here, the world exists with you; when you leave, the world disappears with you. Those “others,” those entanglements, those attachments, those controls—these are all within your own mind, the various entanglements you create with yourself.
So then you understand that line again: Originally there is nothing. Where, then, could dust arise?
