Back from Hong Kong—successfully got my cards!#港卡 #汇丰银行 #中银香港 #众安银行
I'm a total beginner. I went straight to the bank as soon as I arrived in Hong Kong, connected to its Wi-Fi, and applied for accounts with ZA Bank, HSBC, and Bank of China. The whole process was online, and I got all three done in about half an hour. I applied for the Bank of China account yesterday and got the approval text today. Whether Bank of China approves you seems to be down to luck, but HSBC and ZA Bank are pretty much guaranteed. I also opened an account with Macau Ant Bank while I was in Macau.
If you're planning to apply, make sure you do your research in advance. Once you get there, go straight ahead and apply. If you can open a U.S. stock trading account, try to get that done too.
