$BTC ONE KEY TO LOCK THE SAME KEY TO UNLOCK A long time ago, in 1553, people came up with this method to make secret messages harder to read. Its famous name: Vigenère. A Frenchman, around 1586. The original message is called plaintext. Example: HELLO. The secret word is called the key. Example: HODI. The scrambled result is called ciphertext. The key is repeated: HELLO HODI Each letter is shifted according to the key. So it gets jumbled up. Without the key, it’s hard to read. Want to turn it back into HELLO? Use the same HODI key. That’s why it’s called symmetric. Symmetric = the same key, both ways. Encryption = changing text so other people can’t understand it. It used to be secure. Not anymore. Once the key pattern is figured out, the message can be read. Blockchain doesn’t use Vigenère. The only thing still used is the idea: one secret key to lock and unlock data. Wallet addresses and transaction signatures use a different system. Not the same key for both. Remember this one sentence: Vigenère is history. One key for both ways is an idea. Don’t mix them up. #lovinghistory#Binanceacademy #learningcrypto#

ONE KEY TO LOCK
THE SAME KEY TO UNLOCK

A long time ago, in 1553, people came up with this method to make secret messages harder to read. Its famous name: Vigenère. A Frenchman, around 1586.

The original message is called plaintext. Example: HELLO.

The secret word is called the key. Example: HODI.

The scrambled result is called ciphertext.

The key is repeated:

HELLO

HODI

Each letter is shifted according to the key.

Remember this one sentence:

Vigenère is history. One key for both ways is an idea. Don’t mix them up.

$BTC $ETH $SOL *"WHY IS BLOCKCHAIN SAFE? - The Palm Oil Farmer Version"* Not because I'm smart. But because I realized one thing people forget: *What got hacked was the TOKEN, not the PALM OIL.* The blockchain itself wasn't breached at all. What got breached was a Binance engineer's laptop. The blockchain kept running, stayed safe. Why? Because I just understood these 3 things from my own handwritten notes: *1. It's a ledger that every farmer has a copy of.* If I lose my ledger, my neighbor still has theirs. Take out 10 farmers, and 1,000 others still have their copies. You can't shut it down. *2. Every piece of data has a DIGITAL FINGERPRINT (hash).* Change just 1 letter in a record, and the fingerprint changes completely. So if a thief wants to change 1 block, they have to change EVERY block after it + change the ledger held by EVERY farmer in the world. Impossible. That's what I wrote: "impossible." *3. We don't trust people; we trust verification.* Transparent. Everyone can see it. That's what lets me, a palm oil farmer who's only a graduate of the rice fields, sleep soundly even when the market is in the red. That night I realized: The ones who got wiped out were the ones trading on emotion. I was up Rp0.59, the one learning to trade on emotion too—but the emotion of CURIOSITY. I don't have $6.3 billion to get hacked. I only have 1 notebook and a pen that's almost out of ink. But that notebook will give me my first Pumpkin someday. Not from trading, but from writing. For those of you whose portfolios are in the red tonight too, and who are scared after hearing about the hack: Don't sell just yet. Grab a notebook. Write down why you got into crypto. Sometimes the safest answers are in your own handwriting, not in a red candle. From Riau.
