In a research report published Thursday, DWF Labs noted that
daily flows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs are a poor predictor of Bitcoin’s subsequent price movements;
investors tend to buy after prices rise and pull out when they fall.
The study covered 694 trading days since the launch of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024. Of the eight periods in which Bitcoin fell by 15%, seven saw net outflows from ETFs;
all nine periods in which it rose by 15% saw net inflows.
DWF Labs concluded that ETF flows tend to confirm market trends rather than predict them.

The Blockchain Association said it had sent a letter to leaders of both chambers of Congress, urging lawmakers to advance prudent, bipartisan digital asset tax legislation.
The association said that about 67 million Americans own and use digital assets, and that the current tax system leaves taxpayers facing uncertainty and a heavy compliance burden while driving innovation overseas.
The tax principles proposed by the association include a meaningful de minimis exemption; taxing mining and staking rewards as newly created property when disposed of; reporting arrangements that protect taxpayer privacy; taxation based on economic substance rather than technical form; and wash-sale rules that prevent abuse without penalizing everyday activity. The House Ways and Means Committee has previously advanced digital asset tax legislation.
Senator Steve Daines has introduced a Senate version. With Congress in recess until after the November 3 elections, a short legislative window remains.
TMX Developed by Term Structure Labs, TermMax is a pioneering DeFi protocol for fixed-rate, fixed-term lending. It is backed by Cumberland DRW, HashKey Capital, and YZI Labs, and integrates with tokenized assets such as Aave, Morpho, Pendle, and Ondo. TMX is its governance token. It has already launched on Binance Alpha and currently has a market cap of $1.5 million. This is one of the few projects I’m relatively optimistic about. The top 10 holders own 93% of the tokens, and this concentration makes it easier for the project’s market makers to drive up the price. XTER Xterio is a pioneering platform that integrates AI and Web3 technology to revolutionize gaming. It has received significant investments from Binance Labs and Animoca Ventures, raising a total of $80 million to develop immersive gaming experiences.

The current pace of the rally feels just like the early days of 2020, when we saw a lot of 3/12-style black swan events. Something like that is bound to happen again in the future. When FOMO reaches its peak—probably sometime next year—we’ll see another 3/12-style market move.
